This is an individual who really needs to learn HOW TO LEARN because his or her learning style is probably very different from his/her parents' and teachers', and what they say may not help.

For Parents
  • All children, 11 years old and older, benefit from taking the Learning Channel Preference Checklist (LCPC).
  • Children need concrete, objective evidence that the way they learn and remember most naturally and effectively is the key to studying smarter...not harder.
  • After taking the test, interpretation guidelines, as well as practical studying suggestions according to learning style are provided.
  • You can take the test too. Compare and discuss your results. Most often, the way you learn is not the way your child learns. Imposing methods which reflect your learning style causes friction and stress. It can alienate instead of help.

  • For Students
As a student with a lot of schoolwork to manage, you need to:
  • cut the amount of time it takes
  • worry less
  • get the best grades possible

You Can Do This - it's just that no one has taught you how.
  • Take the learning style test now.
  • Look at and think about your results.
  • If you have a parent on your back, have him/her take the test. Compare and talk about results.
  • Start putting the study suggestions to use every day. You can't change teachers or the way they teach, but you can change the way you study.
  • When you study according to your learning style, your attention span increases, you remember information better, and your grades go up.
